Qualifications

  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area.
  • 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components.
  • Experience developing, integrating, and certifying aerospace systems for flight.
  • Experience with fluid/gas components including solenoid valves, directional valves, manifolds, regulators, pressure vessels, and instrumentation.
  • Experience with Cryogenic Fluid Management techniques and technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, refugee status, or asylum status required under export control regulations.
  • Blue’s Standard Background Check required.
  • DBIDS background check may be required for military-installation access.
  • Merchant Mariner Credential may be required for certain job profiles.
  • M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area (preferred).
  • Cryogenic fluids experience (preferred).
  • Human-rated space vehicle experience (preferred).
  • Experience with 3D CAD programs, preferably Creo, and FEA programs, preferably ANSYS (preferred).
  • Experience with upper stages and spacecraft (preferred).
  • Experience with the entire life cycle of a propulsion and fluid system (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight, requirement development, manufacturing support, and hardware ownership for cryogenic problems.
  • Own hardware from cradle to grave and deliver hardware to the vehicle.
  • Support the full system life cycle from definition through operation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components.
  • Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight.
  • Manage procurements and hardware dependencies for subsystem deliveries.
  • Lead trade studies, component design and integration, first-order analysis, and test support.
  • Own hardware drawing release, manufacturing plan development, and vehicle integration.
  • Lead cryogenic technology development meetings.
  • Maintain cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic systems.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time.

Job description

  • Provide technical oversight, requirement development, manufacturing support, and hardware ownership for challenging cryogenic technical problems
  • Own hardware from cradle to grave and deliver hardware to the vehicle
  • Support the complete system life cycle from definition and interfaces through conceptual design, detailed design, component development, assembly, verification, and operation
  • Work with internal and external suppliers to design, build, test, and analyze components
  • Work at significant technical depth on complex subsystems with minimal oversight as part of the Zero-g Propellant Management Product Team
  • Manage internal and external procurements and hardware dependencies required for subsystem deliveries
  • Lead trade studies, component design and integration, first-order analysis, test support, and supplier interfaces for fluids propulsion design tasks
  • Own hardware drawing release, manufacturing plan development, manufacturing support, and vehicle integration
  • Lead internal and external cryogenic technology development meetings
  • Maintain cradle-to-grave ownership of cryogenic systems
  • Travel up to 25% of the time
Requirements
  • B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related technical subject area
  • 5+ years of experience in cryogenic fluids and mechanical systems/components
