DMI, a leading provider of digital services, seeks a Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer to support FTC. You will own the Linux platform, design and modernize RHEL/Oracle Linux environments, and mentor admins. Hybrid work at FTC Headquarters Washington, DC, with onsite and telework options.

The role requires eight+ years in Linux/Unix, strong automation with Ansible/Satellite, and expertise in security baselining and cloud migrations. RHCSA and RHCE/LPIC-2 are preferred certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or related field plus 8+ years Linux/Unix administration/engineering.
• Senior/lead level with design and architecture ownership for an enterprise Linux environment.
• Senior-level RHEL administration; knowledge of Oracle Linux.
• Experience automating with Ansible/Satellite and infrastructure as code tooling.
• Experience migrating major OS versions and modernizing platforms.
• Strong networking knowledge and virtualization experience.
• Security hardening using CIS/STIG frameworks and federal compliance basics.

Responsibilities

• Own engineering and architecture decisions for FTC RHEL/Oracle Linux estate; server builds and standards.
• Design and maintain patch/configuration management architecture (Satellite, Ansible).
• Lead OS lifecycle migrations (RHEL 7/8/9), cloud/on‑prem migration planning, risk assessment.
• Author security baselines; manage vulnerability remediation and NIST/FISMA controls.
• Performance engineering, capacity planning, and proactive remediation.
• Engineer high availability, backups, DR testing and validation.
• Serve as senior escalation point for Linux incidents; conduct root cause analyses.
• Mentor admins, review changes, and present to stakeholders.
• Produce design docs, as‑built records, and SOPs.
