Job summary

DMI in Washington, DC, seeks a Senior Linux/Unix Systems Engineer to lead the FTC Linux platform, designing, hardening, and automating the RHEL/Oracle Linux environment. This hybrid role combines hands-on engineering with design ownership, mentoring admins, and coordinating with government stakeholders to ensure secure, compliant operations for mission applications.

Candidates should have 8+ years of deep Linux/Unix experience, RHCSA, RHCE, and strong automation with Ansible, plus CIS/STIG

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 8+ years of Linux/Unix admin/engineering experience.
• Senior/lead-level design ownership for an enterprise Linux environment (RHEL, Oracle Linux).
• Experience with enterprise automation and configuration management (Ansible, Satellite).

Responsibilities

• Own engineering and architecture decisions for FTC Linux estate, including server builds and platform standards.
• Design and maintain patch/config management architecture, automating workflows.
• Lead OS version migrations, cloud migrations, and security hardening baselines.
