Job summary

Mavis Tire is seeking a Systems Engineer to own and optimize a high-concurrency Linux fleet across Ubuntu and RHEL, ensuring availability for thousands of remote sessions. You will manage Ubuntu/RHEL servers, implement Nginx as a load balancer, and drive security hardening with SELinux and AppArmor, all while enabling reliable data feeds and ETL processes.

Responsibilities include Postfix queue management, CUPS-based printing, and automation via Ansible.

Qualifications

• Extensive Linux system administration experience in high-concurrency environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and telemetry skills for complex infrastructures.
• Experience with data ingestion, ETL processes, and Windows-to-Linux data flows.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and optimize a mixed Ubuntu/RHEL server fleet for high availability.
• Configure Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer.
• Tune Linux networking stack to prevent bottlenecks in high-density sessions.
• Troubleshoot .NET Core apps and system bottlenecks.
• Monitor data ingestion from external systems and SQL Server replication.
• Manage Postfix queues and enterprise printing with CUPS.
• Harden security with SELinux, AppArmor, and firewall configurations.
• Collaborate with PMs and developers; provide production telemetry.
• Develop Ansible playbooks for automated config, patching, and audits.
