Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Systems Engineer III for a Fortune 500 telecom client in Englewood, CO. The role combines hands-on Linux systems work with DNS/IPAM support and automation, split roughly 50/50 between project work and operations, with strong ownership and proactive communication.

You will administer Linux environments, troubleshoot DNS/IPAM, automate tasks (Python preferred), and collaborate across lab teams and vendors. Hybrid onsite/remote schedule offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on systems administration / systems engineering experience.
• Strong Linux administration and DNS troubleshooting experience.
• Automation/scripting experience; Python preferred, Bash/PowerShell also acceptable.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving across systems and apps.
• Proactive ownership, ability to meet deadlines and communicate clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux environments and services for enterprise apps.
• Support DNS and IPAM-related services; troubleshoot reliability issues.
• Write and enhance automation scripts (Python preferred).
• Troubleshoot access issues, failed automation, and infrastructure incidents.
• Coordinate with vendors for features, issues, and lifecycle support.
• Own projects and deadlines; communicate status and risks promptly.
• Document procedures, runbooks, configs, and operational processes.
• Follow RBAC and security practices while collaborating across teams.
