Job summary

Eightelevengroup in Englewood, CO is seeking a Systems Engineer III to support a large-scale enterprise lab environment. The role blends hands-on Linux administration with DNS/IPAM tasks and automation initiatives.

You will work with a small, high-performing team and vendors to ensure reliable, secure infrastructure. The position emphasizes ownership, urgency, and proactive communication, with time split between project work and application support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on Linux system administration or engineering.
• Experience administering DNS and IPAM related services.
• Automation or scripting experience (Python preferred).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and applications.
• Proactive ownership of deadlines and clear communication across teams.
• Experience collaborating with vendors and third-party applications.
• Experience leading projects or owning technical deliverables with tight deadlines (preferred).
• Exposure to enterprise infrastructure tools such as Infoblox, NetBox, PowerDNS, Zabbix, Grafana, Jira, Git, and CI/CD concepts (preferred).
• API-based automation or integration experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux environments for enterprise apps.
• Troubleshoot DNS/IPAM related services to ensure reliability.
• Develop and improve automation scripts (Python preferred).
• Troubleshoot user access issues, automation failures, and incidents.
• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and support lifecycles.
• Own projects and communicate status proactively.
• Document runbooks, configurations, and processes.
• Follow RBAC and security practices across teams.
• Work cross-functionally with labs, networks, and application teams.
• Contribute to a reliable large-scale enterprise lab environment.
