Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Administrator – Leel 2 or 3 to join our team in Aurora, CO at Buckley Space Force Base. The role focuses on Linux systems administration within large, classified government contracts, requiring strong communication with internal and external customers.

Basic qualifications include a DoD TS/SCI clearance, 1 year of server admin experience with RHEL, and a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Qualifications

• DoD TS/SCI clearance required at time of application.
• 1 year of server administration experience with RHEL.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform as a Linux Systems Administrator on large, classified government contracts.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, in written and verbal formats.
• Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network, software, and system engineers, PC desktop technicians, project managers, end users, and customer and IT management.
• Support multiple networks and ensure admin tasks are completed and directed as necessary.
• Analyze requirements and determine equipment and software needs for solutions via automated systems.
• Recommend and implement system enhancements to improve performance and reliability, including patching and configuration management.
• Create and maintain user and computer accounts and modify file permissions and security access lists.
• Test new releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
• Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed.
