Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) in Falls Church, VA seeks a experienced Linux Administrator to support the Infrastructure Management Monitoring Team. You will maintain Linux OS, install software, apply patches, monitor performance, and respond to alerts in a mission-driven environment.

The role requires 8+ years of RHEL experience, a Secret clearance, and strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of overall demonstrated experience as a RHEL 7 and/or RHEL 8 Servers
• Experience administering RHEL 7/8 Linux servers and applying Linux best practices
• Experience with NFS, CIFS, and SMB permissions
• Strong Linux administration skills with knowledge of enterprise network architectures
• Hands-on automation/configuration tools: Ansible, Puppet, Chef
• Scripting for automation: Bash, Ruby, Python, Perl
• Proficient in TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, NFS
• Security clearances: Secret eligibility and ongoing maintenance

Responsibilities

• Provide system administration support for Linux operating systems including installing software, applying patches, managing file systems, monitoring performance, and troubleshooting alerts from monitoring tools
• Analyzes and resolves problems related to OS, servers, hardware, and applications; perform system failure analysis and recovery
• Implement and maintain Ansible, STIG Manager, and firewall configurations
• Perform backups, patches, and daily monitoring; coordinate with data center staff
• Create and maintain SOPs for Linux documentation and procedures
• Provide performance metrics and capacity planning for Linux servers
• Coordinate with stakeholders to meet deadlines and objectives
