Job summary

ASRC Federal Holding Company seeks a Senior Linux System Administrator to lead day-to-day administration, hardening, and modernization of enterprise Linux environments in support of CECOM missions. The role is remote, US-based, with responsibilities across on-prem and GovCloud, focusing on security, automation, and mission-critical operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of Linux experience, DoD/federal exposure, and an active Secret clearance or higher; DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline preferred; four additional years of equivalent experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and harden enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments across on-premises and AWS GovCloud.
• Operate and troubleshoot high-availability architectures including Pacemaker/Corosync clusters and load-balanced services.
• Lead patch management, system hardening, and STIG/ACAS compliance activities; coordinate vulnerability remediation.
• Support ASIC software delivery workflows and deploy updates to deployed Army units.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent.
• Write automation scripts (Bash, Python) to streamline tasks, monitoring, and reporting.
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to support ATO and continuous authorization.
• Mentor junior admins and contribute to architecture and lifecycle decisions.
