Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to lead day-to-day operations, hardening, and modernization of enterprise Linux environments. The role supports ASIC software updates for deployed Army units and requires a Secret clearance with DoD experience.

You will manage RHEL across on-prem and AWS GovCloud, drive patching and STIG compliance, and craft IaC and automation using Ansible/Terraform. Collaboration with security and network teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field; four years of equivalent experience accepted.
• Active Secret clearance or higher; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of Linux administration with senior/lead experience.
• Experience with DoD or federal Linux environments and RHEL on-prem and cloud.
• Strong communication of technical concepts to technical and customer stakeholders.
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification required or to be achieved within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Administer, harden, and maintain RHEL environments across on-prem and AWS GovCloud.
• Lead patching, hardening, STIG/ACAS compliance, and vulnerability remediation.
• Support ASIC software delivery and IaC automation (Ansible, Terraform).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Python).
• Coordinate with security, network, and app teams for ATO activities and cATO.
• Mentor junior admins and contribute to architecture and lifecycle decisions.
