Job summary

ASRC Federal is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to lead day-to-day admin, hardening, and modernization of enterprise Linux environments in support of DoD missions. This remote role requires a US-based candidate and a Secret clearance.

You will support ASIC software delivery, manage IaC with Ansible/Terraform, and collaborate across security, networking, and applications teams to ensure secure, reliable operations for deployed Army units.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline preferred; 4 additional years of equivalent experience considered.
• Active Secret clearance required or higher; TS/SCI strongly preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on Linux system administration, 3+ years senior-level/lead.
• Experience in DoD or federal mission-critical Linux environments.
• RHEL administration in on-prem and cloud, including AWS GovCloud.
• Strong written and verbal communication of strategies, risks, and recommendations.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant baseline certification (Security+ CE or higher).

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and harden enterprise Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments across on-prem and AWS GovCloud.
• Operate high-availability architectures with Pacemaker/Corosync; manage load-balanced services.
• Lead patch management, hardening, and STIG/ACAS compliance; coordinate remediation.
• Support ASIC software delivery workflows and deploy updates to Army units.
• Develop Infrastructure as Code and configuration management using Ansible, Terraform.
• Author scripts (Bash, Python) to streamline operations, monitoring, reporting.
• Collaborate with security, network, and application teams for ATO and continuous authorization.
• Mentor junior admins and contribute to architecture and lifecycle decisions.
