Job summary

Bloom Energy in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our IT Operations team. This on-site role reports to the Senior Manager, IT Operations and is based in San Jose, CA. This is an on-site role 5 days a week.

You will maintain Linux servers, monitor with Nagios, and work with VMware infrastructure, while developing automation scripts and implementing robust security and disaster recovery practices.

Qualifications

• Maintains production Linux environments and tracks downtime and inventory.
• Maintains and upgrades Linux servers and patches.
• Manages Nagios monitoring and VMware infrastructure.
• Develops automation scripts for multi-environment support.
• Ensures security controls and backups are in place and tested.

Responsibilities

• Maintain Linux server operating systems.
• Monitor server and network environment with Nagios.
• Manage VMware infrastructure and SAN multipathing.
• Develop automation scripts for consistency across environments.
• Plan and execute timely Linux system upgrades and patches.
• Provide support for new applications and upgrades.
• Design solutions for new systems and infrastructure changes.
• Prepare for disaster recovery and ensure backups are completed and tested.
• Troubleshoot software and hardware failures and identify network problems.
• Establish and maintain security and integrity controls.
