Job summary

UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies seeks a Systems Administrator (EDOS-2026-26113) with Red Hat Enterprise Linux experience in Dahlgren, VA. The role supports developers and users, ensures cybersecurity compliance, and assists the ISSO in enterprise environment development.

You will harden systems, write automation, and provide detailed documentation while collaborating with internal and external IT teams to address challenges and maintain Navy cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of Linux systems.
• High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience installing, supporting, and maintaining servers or other computer systems and planning for outages.
• In-depth understanding of networking concepts, TCP/IP, routing, firewall configurations, and Cisco switches.
• Enterprise administration using Red Hat Satellite, Active Directory, and PDQ.

Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of Linux-based applications related to engineering and scientific tasking.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced system-level and networking issues.
• Write and maintain automation scripts to streamline operations.
• Provide support to weapon systems on standalone networks with defined configurations.
• Assess, harden, and mitigate cyber vulnerabilities using ACAS/Nessus, STIGs, and SRGs.
