Job summary

Global Channel Management seeks a seasoned Linux System Administrator to operate, maintain and support high availability server, database and SAN platforms across multiple data centers. Responsibilities include 24x7 on-call coverage, patching, upgrades and performance tuning.

The role requires eight years of Red Hat Linux administration experience, Oracle SQL/RAC expertise, and strong written communication.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent
8+ years of system administration experience in Red Hat Linux
Experience with HP C7000 blades and DL380/DL580 servers
24x7x365 on-call support and after-hour/weekend coverage
Experience with Oracle SQL database and Oracle RAC on SAN platforms
Strong documentation and written communication skills

Responsibilities

Operate, maintain and provide 24x7x365 support for high availability server/database/SAN platforms
Monitor, alert, troubleshoot, and perform capacity management
Provision, patch, upgrade and tune systems across data centers
Administer multiple systems with after-hours/weekend support in a 99.999% uptime environment
Create clear system documentation and runbooks for operations teams
