Job summary

KBR is seeking a Senior Linux Systems Administrator with a focus on automation to join our National Security Solutions team. You will design, deploy, and maintain robust Linux-centric server architectures while driving automation and configuration management using Ansible.

The role requires implementing DISA STIGs, RMF compliance, and support for diverse test networks including TRMC ADTR, JMETC JSN/JMN nodes, and DREN/SDREN environments; travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret clearance.
• 10+ years in Systems Administrator or Systems Engineering roles.
• Technical Bachelor’s degree; professional experience may substitute for degree.
• In-depth knowledge of Enterprise Linux (RHEL 7/8/9), storage (LVM), systemd, firewalld, SELinux, and Bash.
• Hands-on experience with Ansible playbooks, inventories, and automation workflows.
• Experience administering virtualization platforms, preferably VMware (vSphere/vCenter).
• Willing to travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, optimize, and maintain enterprise Linux distributions (RHEL, Rocky, CentOS) and core services across bare-metal and virtualized environments.
• Develop, test, and maintain reusable Ansible playbooks, roles, and collections to automate provisioning, hardening, patching, and drift remediation.
• Support containerized environments using Docker, Podman, and Kubernetes for workload deployment and lifecycle management.
• Automate DISA STIG implementations and audit verification across Linux OS and stacks; remediate vulnerabilities identified by ACAS/Nessus.
• Manage software repositories, updates, and image baselines using Red Hat Satellite, Foreman, or equivalent mirrors.
• Administer virtualization, storage, networking, and Windows services in a heterogeneous environment.
• Maintain TRMC cybersecurity directives, RMF monitoring policies, HBSS/Trellix agents, and centralized logging.
• Create SOPs, Ansible execution guides, and diagrams to facilitate knowledge transfer.
