Job summary

Efficient Computer is seeking a Senior Staff Linux Runtime Software Engineer to own the user-mode components interfacing with the Fabric. The role includes the user-mode driver, kernel-mode interface, and HAL exposure for the Fabric ABI.

Work spans pre-silicon environments, including QEMU, emulation, and FPGA to ensure day-one functionality. You will collaborate with compiler, kernel driver, architecture, and verification teams during development, bringing up first silicon and defining runtime

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent; M.S. a plus.
• 7+ years of systems software experience with Linux user-mode driver work.
• Experience with accelerator runtimes and hardware interfaces.
• Strong C/C++ and Python; deep debugging and profiling skills.
• Experience in pre-silicon environments (QEMU, emulation, FPGA).

Responsibilities

• Own the Runtime Library and User-Mode Driver for Fabric accelerator.
• Design and implement user-mode interfaces between compiler, ABI, and kernel driver.
• Define in-memory representations generated by the compiler.
• Support ML backends in PyTorch, ONNX, and TensorFlow.
• Lead first-silicon bring-up with simulation, emulation, and FPGA.
• Establish runtime test coverage and regression suites.
