Job summary

Efficient Computer is hiring a Senior Staff Linux Runtime Software Engineer to own the user-mode components interfacing with the Fabric, and to define the HAL interface exposed by the Fabric ABI. You will work in pre-silicon environments, using QEMU, emulation, and FPGA to ensure day-one readiness.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related; M.S. is a plus.
• 7+ years of systems software experience with Linux user-space driver development.
• Experience building a production accelerator runtime stack from driver API to the user library.
• Strong understanding of unified memory models, allocators and zero-copy paths.
• Experience designing public APIs for runtime libraries (ABI stability, versioning).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the user-mode runtime driver for the Fabric accelerator.
• Develop all user-mode interfaces between the compiler, the Fabric ABI, and the kernel mode driver.
• Define in-memory representations generated by the compiler and consumed by Fabric.
• Design and implement runtime support for 3rd party ML backends (PyTorch, ONNX, TensorFlow).
• Lead user-mode bring-up on first silicon in pre-silicon environments (QEMU, emulation, FPGA).
• Establish runtime test coverage including unit, conformance, and regression suites.
