Job summary

Efficient Computer in the Bay Area or Pittsburgh seeks a Senior Staff Linux Runtime Software Engineer to own user-mode components interfacing with the Fabric. You will collaborate with compiler and kernel teams, work in pre-silicon environments, and help bring up software on day one using QEMU, emulation, and FPGA.

The role requires strong C/C++, Python, and kernel/user-space interface design, plus hands-on experience with accelerator runtimes and Linux driver models.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science, M.S. a plus.
• 7+ years of systems software experience with Linux user-mode driver work.
• Experience with accelerator runtimes and public API design.
• Hands-on with QEMU, emulation, and pre-silicon development.

Responsibilities

• Own the user-mode runtime driver and interfaces to the Fabric ABI.
• Develop runtime library support for ML backends and frameworks.
• Collaborate with compiler, kernel, and architecture teams across lifecycle.
• Establish runtime test coverage including CI, emulation, and validation.
• Lead silicon bring-up using QEMU, emulation, and FPGA environments.
