Blue Origin LLC is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Software Engineering team supporting TeraWave in the Greater Seattle Area. You will design core Linux platform infrastructure and write kernel modules to support custom hardware aboard LEO satellites.

The role requires deep Linux kernel knowledge, system-level debugging skills, and collaboration with silicon, electrical, and RF teams to optimize SoCs and kernels. On-site work in Seattle area with strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related STEM.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Deep Linux kernel knowledge with driver development and memory management.
• Experience with system-level debugging tools (GDB, perf, eBPF).
• Proficiency in embedded Linux and Buildroot/Yocto tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design core Linux platform infrastructure for embedded satellites.
• Develop and maintain Linux kernel modules and device drivers.
• Tune scheduling, memory, and I/O for high-performance systems.
• Implement secure boot, runtime security monitoring, and credential mgmt.
