Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Senior Linux Platform Engineer to design, automate, and secure enterprise Linux platforms across RHEL and SUSE. You will own lifecycle management, drive automation with Ansible, Terraform, Bash, Python, Git, and CI/CD tooling, and lead cross-team projects in a 24x7 retail environment.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with offshore resources, and ensure platform reliability, security, and observability through monitoring and incident response.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of hands-on Linux engineering in enterprise environments.
• Strong experience with RHEL and SUSE Linux in mission-critical setups.
• Proficiency with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Bash, Python, Git, CI/CD).
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and security hardening in Linux platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, engineer, and maintain enterprise Linux platform standards for RHEL and SUSE.
• Build and maintain automation for provisioning, patching, configuration, and deployment.
• Own OS lifecycle planning, patch compliance, and upgrade roadmaps.
• Lead incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation in a 24x7 production environment.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate with onshore/offshore teams.
