Job summary

Burlington Stores is seeking a Manager, Linux Platform in New Jersey to lead a 5-9 person team responsible for enterprise Linux platforms across corporate and distribution centers. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic planning to keep systems secure, highly available, and scalable for a fast-paced off-price retail environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of Linux/DevOps experience, strong cloud and virtualization knowledge, and proven leadership.

Qualifications

7+ years of hands-on Linux, DevOps or Platform Engineering experience in enterprise environments.
Experience managing a team of systems, DevOps, or platform engineers.
Strong experience operating in public cloud environments like Azure, GCP or AWS.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5-9 System Engineers and Administrators with clear goals, performance metrics, and accountability.
Oversee deployment, configuration, patching, upgrades, and tuning of RHEL & SUSE virtual servers.
Drive automation using Ansible, Terraform, Bash, and CI/CD tooling.
Act as the primary escalation point for production incidents, including RCA and permanent remediation.
Manage systems lifecycle, capacity planning, and on-call schedules; ensure 24/7 support with defined SLAs.
Collaborate with Procurement and Finance to manage budgets, renewals, licenses, and cloud spend.
