Job summary

CoreWeave is seeking a Senior Software Engineer on the Systems Engineering team to act as the kernel expert, tracing complex failures in Kubernetes, pods, and containers to root causes in the Linux kernel and fixes upstream where appropriate.

You will work at the boundary between kernel internals and the container orchestration stack, debugging crashes and edge cases at fleet scale and collaborating with hardware, platform, and product teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Linux kernel engineering or systems-level development.
• Deep understanding of memory management, process scheduling, cgroups, and namespaces.
• Experience debugging kernel crashes and dumps with crash, gdb, or kdump.
• Strong C programming skills with upstream-quality code.
• Knowledge of container runtimes and Kubernetes stack.

Responsibilities

• Trace and fix root causes in the Linux kernel for Kubernetes workloads.
• Debug kernel crashes, panics, and hangs at fleet scale.
• Work with containerd, runc, kubelet, and CRI at the stack boundary.
• Develop kernel patches for upstream submission when appropriate.
• Build diagnostics and observability tooling for kernel and cgroups.
