Job summary

PGTEK seeks a Senior Linux Cluster System Administrator to provide hands-on support and system administration for a large-scale Linux HPC cluster at Stennis Space Center, MS. The role focuses on system health, security, uptime, and performance, with you serving as a trusted technical advisor to the customer.

You will troubleshoot complex issues, plan upgrades, and transfer knowledge to customer admins. A TS clearance and 10+ years of Linux experience in large environments are required.

Qualifications

• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required.
• 10+ years of professional Linux system administration experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting large-scale or clustered Linux environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and independent problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently in a highly technical environment.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform general system administration for a large-scale Linux cluster environment.
• Monitor and maintain overall system health and operational continuity.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues.
• Respond to customer requests and provide timely technical support.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute system upgrades.
• Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
• Maintain the security posture of systems operating on the customer network.
• Provide knowledge transfer to customer administrators.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
