Job summary

Leidos Defense Sector seeks a Senior Linux Engineer to design and implement infrastructure as code and manage Red Hat Linux environments at Langley Air Force Base, VA. You will deploy and maintain servers, build Ansible playbooks, and drive automation across CI/CD pipelines.

The role requires DoD TS/SCI clearance, strong Linux administration, and expertise in containerization and IaC tools. On-site work in Virginia with a focus on security hardening and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance is required.
• 8+ years of Linux administration experience.
• Experience with containerization: Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or Rancher.
• Experience with configuration management: Puppet, Ansible, or Salt.
• Scripting skills in Bourne shell, sed, awk, Python, or Perl.
• Experience with virtualization technologies.
• Understanding of LDAP and SSO technologies.
• Strong automation and IaC focus.

Responsibilities

• Administer and deploy server hardware and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9 OS and critical apps.
• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks and roles for infrastructure automation.
• Automate deployments using Ansible Automation Platform, Terraform, and Packer.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in Ansible deployments and RHEL environments.
• Integrate Ansible automation into CI/CD pipelines with other teams.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and security hardening of RHEL systems.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
