Job summary

Leidos Inc seeks a Systems Administrator to support Linux-based development, test, and production environments with hands-on administration, automation, and change control. The role emphasizes security hardening and incident response, leveraging Ansible, Bash, Python, and AWS services in mission-critical setups.

The ideal candidate has deep Linux experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and an active TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph for work in national security programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university and eight years of related experience.
• Extensive hands-on Linux systems administration experience on RHEL or comparable enterprise distributions.
• Experience administering Linux systems including accounts/permissions, patching, services, storage, and performance monitoring.
• Hands-on automation/configuration management using Ansible or similar, plus Bash and/or Python scripting.
• Strong Linux troubleshooting skills and networking knowledge (DNS, TCP/IP, ports, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with Linux security hardening, vulnerability remediation, and change-control processes.
• Experience with AWS including EC2, ECS, EKS, Systems Manager (SSM), CloudFormation, and monitoring services.
• Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, secure, monitor, and troubleshoot RHEL/Linux systems across Development, Test, and Production environments.
• Lead root-cause analysis across OS, applications, storage, authentication, performance, and network connectivity using CLI and monitoring tools.
• Manage lifecycle activities including accounts, permissions, patching, packages, services, and maintenance.
• Implement and maintain Linux security controls, hardening standards, vulnerability remediation, and baselines.
• Develop and maintain automation/configuration-management solutions to improve consistency and efficiency.
• Collaborate with SAs, DBAs, SWEs, SEs, testers to research, resolve complex issues and share knowledge.
• Develop and maintain documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and change records; participate in on-call support.
