Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc. is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator (AWS) for a fully onsite role in Huntsville, AL. Active Top Secret clearance and U.S.

citizenship are required. You will manage Linux systems, design AWS infrastructure, and implement automation while aligning with DoD security standards. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of hands-on Linux administration experience, strong cloud and security expertise, and solid documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS (VPC, EBS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Troubleshooting networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, load balancers).
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline).
• Security hardening (STIGs, CIS benchmarks) and RMF controls.
• Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) in classified and unclassified environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, RDS, EFS).
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment tasks using Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, perform root-cause analysis and tune performance.
• Patch and harden Linux systems to meet DISA STIG and RMF compliance requirements.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and security policies per DoD standards.
• Support and integrate CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for monitoring and incident response.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum sprints, providing infra support to dev and QA.
