Job summary

Visual Soft, Inc in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator (AWS) for 100% onsite work with an active TS clearance. The candidate will manage Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) and design AWS infrastructure, focusing on security, high availability, and DoD RMF compliance.

The role requires 8+ years of hands-on Linux administration, automation via Ansible and Terraform, and experience with CI/CD tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of hands-on Linux system administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
• Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure in AWS (VPC, EC2, EBS, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch).
• Familiarity with security hardening and RMF/STIG compliance.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Linux servers (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu) in classified and unclassified environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, RDS).
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment with Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation.
• Monitor system performance, identify root causes, and optimize performance.
• Patch and harden Linux systems to meet DISA STIG RMF requirements.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity teams for continuous monitoring and incident response.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum sprints to support development and QA teams.
