General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Linux Administrator in Falls Church, VA to support the Infrastructure Management Monitoring Team. The role focuses on maintaining Linux OS, applying patches, and ensuring system integrity while liaising with senior military and government leadership.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of Linux experience, strong RHEL know‑how, and the ability to implement STIGs, automation, and secure configurations in a mission‑critical environment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering Linux server administration in enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of RHEL 7/8 and best practices for security and hardening.
• Proficiency with automation tools and scripting for repeatable tasks.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and system monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Provide system administration for Linux OS including patches and performance monitoring.
• Analyze issues across OS, servers, hardware and applications; perform recovery as needed.
• Coordinate with data center personnel for maintenance and deployments.
• Implement STIGs, security patches, and firewall configurations.
• Develop procedures and training materials for operations and incident response.
• Prepare performance metrics and usage reports for leadership.
