Job summary

Xcel Energy Inc. is seeking a professional safety/technical training consultant to design and manage training programs across the enterprise, including apprenticeship programs. The role allows up to 75% travel and may be based in Amarillo, TX or Henderson, CO within a hybrid work model.

The position emphasizes developing materials, evaluating program impact, and delivering expert training with strong communication and adult-learning skills to support continuous improvement and customer outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Education, or a technical field related to instruction is preferred or equivalent knowledge.
• Five years of training experience or equivalent technical work experience.
• Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
• Knowledge and application of adult learning principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver training using a systematic approach to develop and maintain training materials.
• Manage apprenticeship programs and coordinate regional training within regions.
• Utilize business processes and project management in implementing training.
• Consult with customers to identify needs and objectives for training services.
• Design and evaluate testing instruments and analyze feedback to measure training effectiveness.
• Provide technical and process-improvement consulting and support training staff.
• Adhere to Training Process Procedures and coordinate special projects.
