Job summary

Valley View Casino seeks a Cook II to safely prepare food items according to standard recipes and menu specifications in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen. You will lead by example, train junior cooks, and ensure consistent quality while maintaining sanitation and safety standards.

The role requires strong knife skills, familiarity with a range of cooking methods, and the ability to work flexible shifts in a 24/7 casino dining environment; drug screening and gaming license may be required.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a Cook in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in braising, sautéing, broiling, and poaching.
• Ability to stand on a hard surface for long periods.
• Knowledge of sanitary practices.
• Must possess basic tools to perform the job duties of a Cook.

Responsibilities

• Support and uphold Valley View Casino’s Standards of Excellence.
• Maintain positive guest relations and resolve guest complaints.
• Train lower-level cooks in proper equipment usage.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu.
• Operate kitchen equipment including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, and flat top.
• Rotate products using FIFO and label/date for safety.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper station setup at all times.
• Adhere to health codes and safety procedures.
