Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Senior LIMS Programmer Analyst in the Strategic Operations division of the Water Department. This on-site role supports the Central Laboratory, ensures data accuracy and regulatory compliance, and leads system upgrades and new module deployments.

Ideal candidate has biology/chemistry/environmental science background with lab data workflow knowledge and the ability to learn technical skills. Strong SQL, reporting, and documentation skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Five (5) years of hands-on experience in computer programming, implementing and managing a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) or similar data management system
• Valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day LIMS operations, maintenance, system administration, and providing user training to meet operational and regulatory requirements
• Develop and maintain SQL or PL/SQL scripts to support data validation, reporting, and automation
• Develop and maintain laboratory reports within LIMS environment
• Administer LIMS user roles, access controls, and workflow permissions
• Troubleshoot LIMS technical issues and provide responsive support to end users
• Support and validate laboratory computers systems and instrument integration
• Work with IT teams, and vendors to resolve system or integration issues
• Develop training materials, SOP, and provide hands-on user training
• Maintain regular onsite presence to support daily lab operations
• Perform other related duties as assigned to contribute to the ongoing success of the laboratory
