Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience as a lifeguard or equivalent.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR, AED, and Water Safety Instructor certification (required).
• Aquatic Facility Operator/Certified Pool Operator Certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Passing of skills test: 300-yard swim under 6:30, 2:00 tread water & 1:40 brick recovery drill.

Responsibilities

• Trains, schedules, and supervises aquatics staff.
• Develops the “Learn to Swim” program and other aquatic classes.
• Manages and coaches year-round recreational swim team as needed.
• Instructs aerobic classes as needed; Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid classes.
• Coordinates and hosts swim meets.
• Develops and maintains facility records and finances.
• Promotes and markets aquatic programs and facilities.
• Assists in planning and implementing programs including camps and events.
