Job summary

City of Plantation is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard for its Aquatic Facility to ensure the safest possible conditions for pool patrons, perform rescues, CPR and first aid as needed, and help maintain equipment and facilities.

The position is non-exempt, AT WILL, and requires Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED, and Water Safety Instructor certificates (or ability to obtain within 1 year), with a minimum 24 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Red Cross Lifeguarding, First Aid, CPR/AED certifications preferred.
• Ability to teach swimming/water-safety courses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers and perform rescues and first aid as required.
• Enforce pool rules and communicate safety regulations to patrons and staff.
• Provide emergency care until EMS arrives.
• Perform maintenance tasks to keep the facility clean and safe.
• Instruct swimming classes for various age groups and water-safety lessons.
• Attend in-service trainings and assist with event setup and recovery.
