The City of Deerfield Beach seeks an energetic aquatics assistant to promote a year-round program including Learn to Swim, lessons, and recreational activities. You’ll support lifeguard services, coaching, and event setup at the Peggy Noland Aquatics Complex, ensuring safety and high-quality customer experiences.

Responsibilities include teaching, assisting with programs for all ages, managing records, and assisting with finances and promotions.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Six months lifeguard or water-safety experience or equivalent.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or equivalent.
• Current CPR, First Aid and AED Certification.
• Skills test: 300-yard swim, 2:00 treading water, 1:40 brick recovery.

Aufgaben

• Teaches Learn to Swim lessons and other aquatic classes.
• Aids in coaching swim team, water polo, and aquatic programs.
• Provides lifeguard services and CPR/First Aid.
• Assists in event setup/breakdown at the Aquatic Center.
• Maintains facility and personnel records and assists with finances.
• Promotes and markets aquatic programs and facilities.
• Monitors safety and enforces City policies.
• Interacts with community groups and the public.
