Job summary

Manulife is seeking a Life Underwriting Auditor for a remote role in the continental US. The position audits underwriting initiatives, assesses medical and financial risk, and provides actionable insights to ensure alignment with pricing and regulatory standards.

You will audit decisioning, identify trends, and collaborate with Risk, Training, and Innovation teams to drive CAPs and training, while contributing to ongoing risk-control enhancements within a global insurer.

Qualifications

• Several years (typically 5+ years) of experience in life insurance underwriting, with proven expertise in medical and financial underwriting.
• Strong understanding of life insurance products, underwriting guidelines, and risk selection principles.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret complex medical and financial information and assess risk appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Audit underwriting initiatives for technical accuracy and guideline adherence.
• Review underwriting decisions for medical, financial, and operational soundness to ensure alignment with guidelines, risk appetite, and mortality assumptions.
• Identify material errors, trends, and themes in audit results and prepare clear reports and recommendations for management.
• Collaborate with Underwriting Management and Risk Management to develop CAPs and track remediation progress.
• Support enhancement of the Underwriting Risk Control Framework, including KRIs and governance standards.
