The role supports agency education and may involve collaboration with Medical Directors and reinsurers.

The ideal candidate has a college degree with 5 years of life insurance experience, and may hold FLMI, FALU or CLU designations. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent with 5 years of life insurance experience.
• FLMI, FALU and CLU designations preferred.
• Keep current with changes in industry and risk selection.
• Familiarity with Windows and Microsoft Office software.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have life underwriting experience and/or a medical background.
• Office-based in West Des Moines, IA with hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities

• Manage total case processing for assigned life insurance applications.
• Review exams, labs, and records to determine coverage suitability.
• Interpret underwriting data and accelerate underwriting when appropriate.
• Collaborate with underwriters, Medical Director, reinsurers, and other experts.
• Participate in training agency force for seminars and state meetings.
