Required are 10+ years in life underwriting, Associate degree (Bachelor’s preferred), and FALU/LOMA certifications. A strong guidance role with agents and collaboration with medical directors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 10+ years of life insurance underwriting experience.
• FALU and LOMA certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Review medical and financial information to assess risk and make underwriting decisions.
• Approve or decline applications, including complex or high-value cases.
• Provide guidance and final decisions on cases referred by other underwriters.
• Respond to questions from agents on complex cases and support training sessions.
• Collaborate with medical directors on difficult reviews and help improve processes.
