Job summary

Talent Edge Recruiting is seeking an experienced Life Insurance Underwriter to review applications, medical records, and financial documentation to assess risk for domestic and international lines. The role requires applying underwriting guidelines and MIB data to determine coverage decisions while coordinating with reinsurers as needed.

You will communicate with agents, policyholders, and internal teams to resolve issues, ensure timely case processing, and maintain HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of life insurance underwriting experience with strong expertise in medical and financial underwriting.
• Solid understanding of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and sound judgment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Review life insurance applications, medical records, and financial documentation to assess risk and decide on underwriting action.
• Evaluate domestic and international cases, deciding on approval, decline, or need for more information.
• Apply guidelines and MIB information to assess medical and financial risks and coordinate with reinsurers as needed.
• Communicate with agents, policyholders, and internal departments to resolve underwriting issues and ensure timely processing.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and assist with audits and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate on updating underwriting guidelines and participate in strategic initiatives.
• Support international initiatives, premium administration, and claims-related activities with leadership.
