Job summary

Sea Research Foundation, Inc. seeks a Senior Life Support Systems Technician for Mystic Aquarium. You will oversee daily operations, monitor and repair life support systems, and ensure the highest standard of care for the animal collection.

Working with cross-functional teams and the Manager of Life Support Systems, you will install and optimize water treatment processes while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. A flexible schedule and physical readiness are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; 3+ years hands-on experience operating life support systems or mechanical systems.
• Experience with plumbing (PVC), pumps, filters, valves, and ancillary equipment.
• SCUBA certification or ability to pass a swim test is required.
• AALSO Level 1 Life Support Certification required within 1 year; Level 2 and Water Quality preferred.
• Must possess valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair aquatic life support equipment including filters, pumps, UV, ozone generators, and dosing equipment.
• Lead life support technicians, coordinating actions to resolve issues with minimal supervision.
• Develop and implement standard operating procedures with Manager approval.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality animal care in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
