Mystic Aquarium is seeking a Life Support Systems Technician to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and repair of critical aquatic life support equipment. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of hands-on experience with mechanical systems.

Qualifications

• 1 year of hands-on experience required.
• Must possess AALSO Level 1 Life Support Certification or ability to become certified.
• Physically able to lift 75 lbs and maneuver in various environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clean and safe work environments.
• Operate, maintain, and repair aquatic life support equipment.
• Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures.

Skills

Operating LSS and mechanical systems

Plumbing (PVC primarily)

Maintenance of pumps, filters, and valves

SCUBA certification

Interpreting technical drawings

Proficiency in MS Office applications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in related discipline

Tools

Forklift operation

Chemistry knowledge in aquatic systems
