Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Actuary - Life Statutory Valuation to join the Enterprise Valuation team. This on-site role is 4 days a week with one day remote, located in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. Comprehensive relocation assistance is available.

You will modernize valuation processes, work with a team of 6 including FSAs and analysts, and help drive automation and cross-functional collaboration across valuation, modeling, data, and reinsurance teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
FSA designation is required.
6+ years of relevant experience.
Proficiency with Prophet, Excel, Snowflake, and AI.
Knowledge of Life Statutory Valuation, VM-20 and Pre PBR Valuation standards.

Responsibilities

Bring quarterly reserve analysis forward with insights and explain movements to diverse audiences.
Assist with quarterly valuation work in Prophet; identify bottlenecks and drive automation.
Enhance policy audit tools to satisfy internal stakeholders, regulators, and auditors.
Collaborate with modeling, data, reinsurance, and other Valuation teams to improve models and validate changes.
Upskill and mentor junior team members.
