Job summary

Pacific Life is seeking a Senior Actuary - Life Statutory Valuation to join our Enterprise Valuation team. This on-site role supports modernization of valuation processes, working with a team of FSAs and analysts.

Based in Newport Beach, CA (relocation offered where needed), the role emphasizes automation, model validation, and collaboration with data, reinsurance, and other valuation teams to deliver accurate quarterly reserve analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics, or a related field.
• FSA designation.
• 6+ years relevant experience.
• Prophet, Excel, AI, Snowflake.
• Knowledge of Life Statutory Valuation, VM-20 and Pre PBR Valuation standards.

Responsibilities

• Bring quarterly reserve analysis forward with insights and explain movements.
• Assist with quarterly valuation work in Prophet and drive automation.
• Enhance policy audit tools to satisfy stakeholders, regulators and auditors.
• Collaborate with modeling, data, reinsurance and other valuation teams to improve models.
• Collaborate with and upskill junior team members.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, computer science, finance, mathematics, or a related field
