Qualifications

• Eight+ years of relevant experience in procurement or category management.
• Science background or substantial experience in scientific industries with lab suppliers and products.
• Experience negotiating agreements with scientific or pharma suppliers and translating terms into value.
• Ability to take category ownership with limited training; procure and manage categories across sites.
• Proven ability to gain cooperation across sites, build credibility, and secure consensus.
• Strong spend analysis, financial evaluation, and spreadsheet skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication and project management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze spending patterns, supplier markets, and existing agreements to identify opportunities; develop category strategies and a prioritized pipeline.
• Build support across central and local procurement; engage researchers and stakeholders to secure participation.
• Develop and negotiate organization-wide supplier master agreements; evaluate pricing, rebates, and terms.
• Coordinate contract reviews to align with policies, sustainability objectives, and requirements.
• Define project scope and groundwork for competitive sourcing; partner with sourcing teams on RFPs, oversight, and awards.
• Implement agreements across client locations; promote adoption and realized savings.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor contract utilization, pricing, performance, and stakeholder satisfaction.
