  • Develop and execute multi-year category strategies that deliver annual savings targets (typically 5–12%+ YoY on managed spend) through supplier consolidation, competitive bidding, total cost of ownership (TCO) optimization, demand management, and value engineering
  • Perform in-depth spend analytics, market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and risk assessments to uncover opportunities and mitigate exposures in indirect categories
  • Lead complex global RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ), supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management for long-term agreements, ensuring robust SLAs, compliance, and cost predictability
  • Drive indirect supply chain resilience, including supplier diversification, contingency planning, and risk monitoring for categories vulnerable to disruption (e.g., IT services, facilities during lab expansions)
  • Ensure full compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., data privacy/GDPR for IT vendors, ethical sourcing, conflict minerals where applicable) and internal policies in a diagnostics-regulated environment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support business initiatives such as office/lab expansions, digital transformation, marketing campaigns for cancer screening awareness, and cost-control efforts amid rapid growth
  • Mentor and develop team members in indirect procurement best practices
  • Report regularly to senior leadership on category performance, savings pipeline, risk profile, and strategic initiatives
  • Maintain and drive strategic sourcing metrics including cost savings actuals vs target, cost avoidance actuals vs target, total cost of ownership (TCO) reduction, sourcing cycle time, spend under contract, spend under management, category savings realization, and category compliance rate
Experience, Education and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree, MBA preferred
  • CPSM/CSCP certification preferred
  • 8 or more years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, with 4 or more years focused on indirect spend in a leadership role required
  • Demonstrates proven expertise in MRP and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Epicor and advanced planning tools
  • Proven success in healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, medical devices, diagnostics, or pharmaceutical industries managing indirect categories
  • Deliver measurable savings and value in fragmented indirect spend areas through negotiation, consolidation, and strategic partnerships
  • Strong expertise in indirect category strategy, spend analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management
  • Experience with indirect categories in lab-based or diagnostics environments
  • Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma, e-sourcing, and indirect spend benchmarking in regulated settings
  • Experience in a growth-stage or high-innovation diagnostics company
  • Exhibit a strategic mindset with excellent analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
