Arnold Porter is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to lead strategic growth for our Global Life Sciences Industry Group and Life Sciences & Healthcare Regulatory practices. You will advise lawyers, connect capabilities across practices, and translate market insights into new business opportunities.

You will guide strategy and execution, from business plans to client relationships, proposals, and firm-wide visibility initiatives. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or J.D. is a plus.
• Six+ years of managerial marketing experience in law firm or professional services preferred.
• Knowledge of business development in a services industry, including client development and cross-selling.
• Ability to advise lawyers, build relationships, and push initiatives forward.
• Excellent writing and communication skills for pitches, proposals, and marketing materials.

• Shape growth strategy by developing and executing practice and industry business plans.
• Partner with group leaders and lawyers on client development and cross-selling opportunities.
• Collaborate across practices to pursue opportunities and strengthen the firm’s life sciences position.
• Use market research and client insights to guide targeting and deepen relationships.
• Lead persuasive pitches and proposals and manage follow-up and outcomes.
• Build market visibility through client events, webinars, and speaking engagements.
