Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is hiring a senior biochemistry and life sciences domain expert to join a leading AI lab's GenAI team. The role centers on reviewing life sciences knowledge work tasks, writing instruction specs, and building golden solutions and benchmarks to demonstrate model reasoning accuracy.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a life science field, has 4+ years of substantive research, and demonstrates AI fluency and strong written communication.

Qualifications

• PhD in biochemistry, molecular/cell biology, genetics, immunology, neuroscience, or related life science.
• 4+ years of substantive research at a recognized institution; graduate coursework alone does not count.
• Genuine domain specialization in at least one area of life sciences.
• Senior level progression with ownership of research direction.
• Peer‑reviewed publications or strong potential preferred.
• Hands-on use of LLMs in professional work and good judgment.
• Available for 40 hours/week, 6 months engagement.
• Bay Area living and on-site work multiple days weekly; relocation if needed.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews: vet model outputs and identify gaps and unsupported claims.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: write specs and golden solutions.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: design tasks and evaluation sets with domain tools.
• Calibration: align standards with client researchers and convert tacit judgment into criteria.
