Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is seeking a senior pharmaceutical R&D domain expert to collaborate with an AI lab's research and program management teams. You will improve how frontier AI models reason about real pharmaceutical research and development work, reviewing pharmaceutical knowledge tasks and creating golden solutions.

This is a full-time W-2 role based in the Bay Area, CA, hybrid/on-site with multiple days on-site as required.

Qualifications

• Education: PhD or PharmD in a pharmaceutically relevant discipline (e.g., medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, translational sciences).
• Experience: 4+ years of substantive pharmaceutical/biotech R&D experience in industry or translational settings.
• Domain depth: specialization in at least one stage of the pipeline (e.g., target ID, medicinal chemistry, preclinical pharmacology, regulatory).
• Seniority: progression to senior level with ownership of a discovery or development program.
• AI fluency: hands-on use of LLMs in professional work and good judgment between solid and plausible wrong answers.
• Availability: able to commit to 40 hours/week for 6 months.
• Location: Bay Area, CA, on-site with relocation willingness (relocation assistance not provided).
• Written communication: precise, well-structured feedback.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews of pharmaceutical knowledge tasks and model outputs.
• Write instruction specs and golden datasets to define correct outputs.
• Design benchmarking tasks and domain-specific evaluation sets.
• Coordinate with researchers to calibrate standards and translate tacit judgment into explicit criteria.
