The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking a Life Safety Lead Technician to join the Life Safety Shop within Building Services in Chapel Hill, NC. The role functions as a Technical Team Leader, overseeing fire alarm and life safety systems programming, inspections, and maintenance, ensuring code compliance and high reliability.
Minimum education includes an associate degree in electronics with NICET Level II certifications; licensure requirements and opportunities to gain
Formación
- Associate degree in electronics required.
- NICET Level II certs in Fire Alarm Systems and Water-Based Systems required.
- Fire Sprinkler licenses required; can be obtained within years of employment.
- Must possess or obtain NC driver’s license prior to hire date.
Responsabilidades
- Lead the Life Safety Shop as Technical Team Leader.
- Provide training and orientation to Life Safety technicians.
- Review and approve FACP programming changes and perform downloads.
- Oversee scheduling, inspections, and 100% acceptance testing.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NC codes, and manufacturer specs.
