Job summary

Midwest Alarm Services is seeking a Design Engineer/System Designer to assist sales with proposal data and CAD drawings, and to manage project design tasks. You will serve as a technical expert on life-safety systems across multiple locations.

The role requires CAD proficiency, NICET or related degree, and the ability to read blueprints and codes. Travel and collaboration with field teams are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems preferred.
• CAD program certification preferred.
• Familiarity with fire/life-safety codes and standards.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Assist sales reps to develop proposals and drawings for projects.
• Design proposed electronic systems in final form.
• Ensure timely completion of drawings.
• Archive submittal data and drawings accurately.
• Develop templates for subcontractors showing rough-in requirements.
• Travel may be required periodically.
• Support field technicians with project information.
• Obtain CAD files from architects, engineers, or electrical contractors.
