Job summary

Prime Partners is seeking an experienced Life Safety Systems Designer to design and manage fire alarm and life safety system plans for commercial construction projects in Phoenix, AZ. You will leverage AutoCAD to create detailed layouts, riser diagrams, and BOMs while ensuring NFPA 72 compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of life safety systems design experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D drawings, floor plans, Xrefs and page setups.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72 and fire alarm codes.
• Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical plans.
• Experience with Word, Excel and Adobe applications.
• Strong communication, organization, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design fire alarm and life safety systems for commercial projects.
• Prepare CAD drawings, floor plans, riser diagrams, BOMs.
• Support two-way communication, ERCES, security, and nurse call systems.
• Review specifications and AHJ requirements.
• Ensure designs meet project specs and codes.
• Read and interpret architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings.
• Coordinate with field ops, customers, engineers and teams.
• Manage multiple projects across phases and deadlines.
• Update drawings with field changes and as-built docs.
• Prepare sequence of operations and system calculations.
• Communicate updates and approvals to stakeholders.
